The pipette adaptor is placed inside the bottle neck and has a central hole to take up the pipettes’ tip. The adaptor provides a clean handling of the medicinal product and makes it easy to combine any pipette size with any size of bottle. It functions as a flow restrictor to reduce the risk of unintended ingestions of oral liquid product by children when unattended. A further advantage of the application is that the surface of contact between pipette and drug is minimized. This is due to avoid any contamination from the pipette into the drug. Like the wiper, it stays inside the bottle which can be closed with a standard or a child resistant closure. The tightness of the bottle is ensured by the edge of the adaptor which acts same way as the closure’s liner and additionally by radial sealing rings on the outside of the adaptor. Pipette adaptors fit into PP28 glass and PE bottle necks. There are two more versions available for GL18 glass and PE bottle necks.
